    Munich Creative Business Week 2015

    Munich, 23rd March 2015 | Informative, inspiring, interesting as well as fascinating and festive – this was the fourth Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW), which took place at the end of February. 163 events, most of which were sold-out, and 52 creative spots gave their visitors and participants the opportunity to network and provided them with inspiring topics and new impetus for their own occupation and activities. The participants ranged from internationally renowned designers to smart start-ups. A broad program was offered to industry professionals as well as the interested public.

    For nine days the Munich Creative Business Week offers design at its best

    Munich, 19th February 2015 | The largest design week in Germany will start on Saturday, 21st February 2015 in Munich. With more than 150 events, over 100 program partners and about 50 Creative Spots, the MCBW, organised by bayern design, is already breaking records. The theme of this year’s creative week is “Metropolitan Ideas”. Several events have taken up this topic and present new design approaches for megacities of the future. A new introduction this year is the platform MCBW START UP. Here, novel business ideas and future-oriented innovations will be presented. With Denmark, the MCBW now has a partner country on board, too. Moreover, the organisers - bayern design and the innovation agency HYVE – will present the MCBW App: “Smart Up Your City” for the first time. The app can be used to document ideas for a smart metropolis and discuss them with the MCBW community. Until 1st March 2015 many free exhibitions, events, workshops, tours and panel discussion will bring professionals and anyone interested in design to Munich.

    Urban staging for the MCBW 2015 “Munich Designers for Metropolitan Ideas”

    Munich, 16th February, 2015 | With two spectacular events Munich is dedicated to design on the occasion of the fourth Munich Creative Business Week (21st February to 1st March 2015). This year’s novelty is the creative presentation of two fountains located at Rindermarkt and Neuhauser Straße in the heart of Munich. Under the motto “Munich Designers for Metropolitan Ideas” more than 20 Munich-based designers have created large billboard posters – the CREATIVE SPACES – especially for the MCBW and allow the city’s creative potential to grow.

    From February 21st until March 1st, 2015, Munich will turn into an international design and architecture metropolis for the fourth time. Numerous exhibitions, events, workshops, tours and panel discussions throughout the entire city will attract an international professional audience, as well as the design interested public, in order to experience design developments from different perspectives.

    Prior to the event week, we would like to invite you to the opening press conference with the important faces of the MCBW. Apart from introducing the highlights of the MCBW 2015 and its key topic “Metropolitan Ideas”, this year’s partner country, Denmark, will be presented during the press conference: Anders Warming, Head of MINI Design and Denmark native, will answer your questions on the panel, as well as the Ministerial Conductor of the Bavarian Ministry of Economics, Dr. Klaus-Peter Potthast. Many interesting moments await you at this unique international design event in the heart of Munich.

    Munich, January 8th, 2015 | The program for Germany’s biggest design event for customers and contractors, the Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW), is now available online. The host, bayern design GmbH, is offering a range of new innovations and an extensive program for experts and the interested public. With the topic “Metropolitan Ideas”, a guiding theme has been defined for the first time around which several events are organised. Moreover, the MCBW introduces the format MCBW START UP, which specifically addresses young entrepreneurs and young designers. A wide range of conferences and exhibitions round off this extensive program (

    Munich, December 11, 2014 | The opening press conference for the fourth Munich Creative Business Week  (February 21 to March 1, 2015) will take place on February 19, 2015 at 11 am at the BMW Welt Munich.  Make sure to pencil in this appointment already as first-class speakers will participate in the panel discussion at the opening of Germany’s biggest design and architecture event: apart from Ilse Aigner, Bavarian State Minister of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology, who will represent the sponsors of the event, Anders Warming, head of MINI design, has also confirmed his appearance. This is a special highlight: Denmark is the MCBW’s partner country and Anders Warming, a native Dane, stands for contemporary (automotive) design in Germany.

    Munich Creative Business Week – Design connects

    Munich, November 27th, 2014 | From February 21st to March 1st 2015for the fourth time, the Munich Creative Business Week ( is the international meeting point for designers, architects, creative minds, scientists and entrepreneurs from all over the world.  A novelty of the MCBW 2015 is the exclusive country partnership with Denmark, the small nordic country with a long standing tradition in design. From February 24th to February 27th the „Danish Design House Munich“ invites to the event location „Freiheiz“: Denmark’s top-creative designers and numerous companies are represented there. Main program issues are the Danish Design and Delight Tour, the exhibition „a kind of blue“ as well as lectures on topics such as „The Future of Smart Cities“, „Womenomics“ or „Healing Architecture“. Different events dedicated to various themes round off the evenings.


    Update: Unfortunately, on a short term we had to cancel our planned exhibition “a kind of blue” in the event location “Freiheiz”. The scheduled supporting evening events will take place in different Danish Creative Spots as well as in the Bavarian “Literaturhaus”.

    Creative Demo Night and Matchmaking Program for companies and innovators

    Munich, September 16, 2014 | From February 21 until March 1, 2015 national and international designers, architects, creative minds, scientists and entrepreneurs meet at the Munich Creative Business Week ( in the Bavarian state capital. A new presentation platform is introduced with the clear goal of promoting innovation: MCBW START UP. The focus is to create better networks between creative minds and companies. Designers shall be closely linked to the location, innovative business ideas and projects supported, and market participants linked together more closely. Therefore, two new events are taking place during the MCBW: during the Creative Demo Night on February 24, 2015 creative minds get the opportunity to present themselves and their projects.  The Matchmaking Program from February 25 until February 26, 2015 allows companies to specifically look for inspiration, new projects and employees.

This year the main theme “Metropolitan Ideas” will be at the centre of numerous events for the first time. The focus is on the challenges of cities and regions and the solutions offered by designers and companies, which deal with the increasing urbanisation of society in all its various facets. Like last year, the MCBW lives its motto "design connects" and reflects the usual variety of disciplines, subjects and formats. In addition, the new format MCBW TALENTS with its objective to sustainably improve Bavaria’s attractiveness as a business location brings together start-ups, young designers, companies and their ideas.
